Sunshine Newsletter for January 2022

Happy New Year, everyone! 2022 has started with battles of COVID in Cairns whereas we were lucky because we didn’t have as serious conditions before as other countries and other big cities in Australia. We have learnt what is good to do and not to do from other countries. Just do it, stay calm, and then we can cope with it, I hope. We have seen many changes for a couple of years. Changes are not always bad and we can find those changes in a better way. Hope you have a fulfilling year.

Workshop & Kōryū-kai (gathering) :

Under some restrictions in Cairns, no workshop and Kōryū-kai will be held this month.

If you have any ideas/requests about future workshops, please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you.

Oshaberi Club:

Same as a workshop, no oshaberi clubthis month either.

If you have any topics/requests about future oshaberi club activities, please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you.

Oshaberi club (where you can practice your Japanese conversational skills with other participants who are interested in a certain topic) comprising two groups, one being elementary to pre-intermediate and the other being intermediate or higher.

News corner:

Online kakizome (first calligraphy art in New Year) event on YouTube

Sunshine members were invited to join this event and one member took part as his first experience. The event will be released on YouTube soon, but I found one Japanese TV news about this even on YouTube. Have a look! We might have a chance to join this event again next year.
